People who have been brought here lose powers and abilities that are innate to their physiology. Or powers and abilities that would literally require soul lobotomies to remove.

Everyone brought here, regardless of nature, biology, mental, or spiritual state, can use two magics with clearly defined scope and limits. No one can exceed those, no one has less or more potential than anyone else.
So. Observing all that, I wonder if you have an answer to this question: Are we us? Ourselves, literally brought here from individual fixed points in time and space, body and soul, just somehow those bodies and souls and accompanying items have been changed in fundamental and impossible ways?
Or are we something else? Projections. Impressions. Copies. Parts of our souls in bodies that were created the same way this world once was.
I know which one seems much more likely based on the available evidence. I'm very interested in your thoughts.
